Tarte True Blood Palette at OneTrueMedia.com

Tarte True Blood Palette Review

I hope everyone is doing great and that you have had a wonderful week so far. I just uploaded my latest video onto Youtube featuring the Tarte True Blood Limited Edition Palette.

This palette was my first purchase of the Tarte brand. It comes with 17 eye shadows, sample size eye primer, sample size mascara and a full size retractable eyeliner.

I do like their eyeshadows in this palette very much.  The texture is creamy and they blend effortlessly and I find all the shadows to be opaque with minimal fallout. They give you a nice variety of shades to choose from. Some are Matte, some have shimmer and some have a bit of glitter but not like the ones that end up all over your face instead of on the lid.

However I'm not a lover of the full size eyeliner that comes with this palette. It's the Aqua gel eyeliner. I have a love hate relationship with this eyeliner, because it's so incredibly soft that you have to be so gentle with it so it doesn't break on you. The slightest bit of pressure and the tip will break off, it's that easy. It will smudge so make sure you set it with a shadow or powder of some sort. What I do love about it is that it's so opaque. It's one of the blackest eyeliners I have ever tried. I give it an A+ for that. I have not tried it in my waterline yet. I'm a bit nervous because one review I saw of it from The Makeup Geek is that she used it in someones waterline and it made their eyes sting and water. So you can see why I'm a little hesitant to try it. If you have tried it in the waterline please let me know what your reaction was to it.

This palette also comes with their own eyeshadow primer called Lifted a natural eye primer with Firmitol. I have tried it with their eyeshadows and I've tried it with Urban Decay, MAC, and Too Faced Shadows. I have had the same results with all the different brand of shadows and that is, that it creases on my lids after several hours. I do have oily eye lids.

My Holy Grail eye shadow primer is Too Faced Shadow Insurance with Urban Decays Primer Potion following right behind.

This palette also comes with a sample size of their famous "Lights, Camera, Lashes" mascara. I have only tried their mascara once and that was today. So I can't give you a review of it yet.

Since buying this palette I have purchase a few other items from the Tarte line. I have tried the ReCreate silicone-free primer with Wrinkle Rewind technology. I must say that I like that primer very much even more then my Laura Mercier primer which has been my Holy Grail of primers, but with Tartes primer, you only need a small amount to cover your entire face and it also feels moisturizing which is a plus for this dry skin gal.

I also enjoy Tartes Smooth Operator Amazonian clay illuminating serum. I add a pea size amount to my liquid foundation. I find that it helps to keep my foundation moisturizing all day and adds a little enhancement to the color.

I have a sample size of the Tarte Park Ave Princess mineral bronzer. I'm very picky when it comes to bronzers. I don't like any shimmer in them. Looking like a disco ball is not very appealing to me. I do find that there is a hint of shimmer to Tarte bronzer, but not enough to make me cringe. I do find their amount of shimmer to be flattering.

I enjoy palettes that come with extra sample items like this one with a eye liner, eye primer, and a mascara. It gives you a chance to sample some of their other items that you might not ever try. I believe the more samples in a palette the better, because if I like it then I would go and buy the full size item.

Blog Sale from pinksofoxy at OneTrueMedia.com

My first purchase from a Blog sale.

Well just like the title says, I bought my first items from a blog sale. It was easy, pain free and like gambling in a way or even being at a silent auction. I saw the items ahead of time, new the set prices and then was told what day and at what time this sell would start. It was a first come first serve type of thing. You placed your order hoping that nobody else had asked for that item before you and then the game begins.
You sit there by your computer waiting to see if you are the one that receives the email for the invoice from pay pal. Are you sad, or are you happy?? Did you get there first or did someone else beat you.
This is how I did it. I saw the items and made a list of the ones I wanted. When it came time I left my order in the comment section of the blog, hoping I was the first to ask for those items. As the minutes went by I saw I wasn't the first one on some of the items but I was on some of the other items, which made me excited. Now this is where the waiting begins. The person having the blog sell now starts with the very first person with the first comment and sends them a invoice for the items they ask for and so on down the line.
I received a invoice for 4 of the 9 items I asked for. Not bad I would say for a first timer. Then hours go by to see if the other items you asked for are still available or were they purchase by someone else. There were over 70 comments of people asking for the same things. I went through every comment and made a list of what was asked for and what was not asked for. There were 3 items that nobody ask for, so I placed my second order and to my delight I was able to purchase those items.
I will say this, I found that I very much enjoyed the blog sell. It was fun, exciting, thrilling, disappointing and aggravating all in one. Would I purchase again from a blog sale.. You bet I would and I even look forward now to having my own blog sale.
